At the request of development agencies, international and national organizations, business chambers and similar sponsoring institutions, SLBDC conducts various types of enterprise development programmes. Our enterprise development activities provide systematic direction and guidance to individuals aspiring to set up enterprises and also cater to the needs of existing micro and small enterprises.
The primary objective of these activities are to help individuals establish new micro and small enterprises, to help improve the present operations of existing micro, small and medium enterprises and to help expand such establishments.
SLBDC is a leading partner organization of the Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) Project of the International Labour Organization (ILO), and is licensed to conduct enterprise development programmes using the methodology especially developed by the SIYB Project for small-scale enterprises.
SLBDC is also a partner organization of the Sri Lanka-German CEFE (Competency based Economies through Formation of Enterprises) Programme and is licensed to conduct enterprise development programmes using CEFE methodology developed by the project.
SLBDC takes great care to provide follow up services to those who complete our enterprise development programmes, over a period of time.
