The Sri Lanka Business Development Centre (SLBDC) is a private, non-profit, non-stock consultancy company established in 1984 with the participation of both public and private sectors to develop strengthen and stimulate private sector business and industry in Sri Lanka. As a results-oriented organization, we are committed to providing a comprehensive package of professional services in areas crucial to the development of enterprise, business, commerce and industry.
As an independent self-supporting corporate entity limited by guarantee and incorporated under Section 21of the Companies Act No. 17 of 1982, SLBDC is managed by a 45 member Council of Governors consisting of business leaders and key government representatives. Since 1996, SLBDC has a strategic alliance with the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, the premier Chamber of Commerce in the country.
SLBDC is an organization, which provides under one roof the leadership necessary for vigorous growth and innovation within the business community and the comprehensive investment information, and services needed to support that growth. SLBDC has a proven track record of providing high quality professional services to a diverse array of public and private sector clients including government and semi-government organizations, international development agencies, private sector firms, non-governmental and community based organizations and individuals.
The company has gained a reputation as a Centre of Excellence with special competency in providing professional services in the broad areas of enterprise development, human resource development (management training), general and management consultancy including surveys / studies relevant to business and industrial development, business information and special assignments.
SLBDC is located at a very central address, which makes it readily accessible to our clients. We are a well established organization with its own vehicles, top of the line computers, photocopying and other office equipment and facilities, training equipment and facilities including training rooms/auditorium in place. In addition we have our own data entry facilities which, strictly ensures that confidentiality is maintained throughout the process. The project support services are directly handled by SLBDC.
